Spleen Meridian and Health Qigong

Spleen meridian starts at end of hallux toe and its running course direction starts at foot and ends at chest, connects stomach meridian of foot-yangming upward, connects heart meridian of hand-shaoyin downward. Specific running course: it starts from end of hallux toe, along dorso-ventral boundary of the hand of inner side of hallux, upward extends to front of malleolus medialis by passing the first metatarsophalangeal joints, upward extends along back side of interior crus tibia, at 8cun of malleolus medialis intersects at front of Jueyin liver meridian of foot, upward extends by passing interior leading edge of knee, accesses stomach, belongs to spleen and connects with stomach. By diaphragm, access root of tongue by passing two sides of esophagus, distributes under tongue. From Zhourong downwards extends to Dabao point of oxter. It branch upward extends from stomach, accesses heart by diaphragm, accesses heart and connects with heart meridian.

Viscera organs that are connected with spleen meridian are: spleen, stomach, heart, throat and tongue, which mainly treat stomachache, emesis, stomachache, diarrhea, astriction and other spleen and stomach diseases, hypermenorrhea, metrorrhagia and metrostaxis and other gynaecopathia, prolapse of the uterus, infertility, emission, erectile dysfunction and other andropathies, flaccid paralysis of lower limbs, chest hypochondriac pain and other diseases related to running course of meridian. The meridian has 21 acupuncture points. Acupuncture points subject to stimulus of Health Qigong are mainly: Yinbai, Dadu, Sanyinjiao, Yinlingquan, Dabao point.

In eighty-eight exercise movements of Health Qigong, the following actions have vital stimulus roles to spleen meridian and main acupoint: Nine Ghosts Drawing Sabers in Yi Jin Jing that turning chest backward rubs spleen and stomach; Tiger Springing on Its Prey in Yi Jin Jing that regulates three yin meridians of foot and hand; Bear Exercise in Wu Qin Xi that massaging spleen and stomach strengthens transportation and transformation function; Bear Shake in Wu Qin Xi that shaking from right and left regulates ribs, regulates spleen and stomach; Hu Exercise in Liu Zi Jue that excretes foul smell in spleen and stomach and helps digestion; Holding One Arm Aloft to Regulate the Functions of the Spleen and Stomach in Ba Duan Jin that massages and regulates spleen and stomach; Massage Ribs in Da Wu that massages ribs, Dabao point, dredges liver and spleen; Dragon Flying in Mawangdui Daoyin Shu that idiodynamics passes Yinbai, Yinlingquan, Dabao point when lifting two palms; Propping up the Sky and Pressing the Skul in Shi Er Duan Jin that stretching legs and bending foot stimulates three yin meridians of foot and three yang meridians of foot; Caressing the Belly and Abdomen in Shi Er Duan Jin that massages abdominal organs and regulates digestive function; Rinsing the Mouth and Swallowing Saliva in Shi Er Duan Jin that stirring tongue influences spleen channel; White Crane Flies High in the Clouds in Daoyin Yangshenggong Shi Er Fa that Hegu presses Dabao point, harmonizes stomach and invigorates spleen; Phoenix Salutes the People in Daoyin Yangshenggong Shi Er Fa that stamping foot backward and lifting toe forward stimulates Jing point and source point of three yin meridians of foot and three yang meridians of foot; Boat Rows Slowly in Taiji Yangsheng Zhang that bending and stretching ankle stimulates three yin meridians of foot, three yang meridians of foot.
