On August 27 of 2017, the opening ceremony of the First China Lijiang Health Qigong Tournament was held in the Lijiang City Stadium of Yunnan province. The tournament will last for five days.

Mr. CHANG Jianping, the Executive Vice President and Secretary-General of the IHQF and President of Chinese Health Qigong Association attended the opening ceremony, along with Yang Yu, the president of Yunnan Health Qigong Association.

This event is organized by the Sports Bureau of Yunnan province, Yunnan Health Qigong Association, and Lijiang Municipal Government, supported by the IHQF and the Chinese Health Qigong Association. This is the first time the Health Qigong international event is held in the form of Grand Prix. The top 3 winners in both the group and individual competitions will be awarded bonuses.

Players from 36 teams, including Mongolia, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Chinese Shanghai, Inner Mongolia, Fujian, Liaoning and Yunnan, will participate in the group and individual competitions of Health Qigong Yi Jin Jing, Wu Qin Xi, Liu Zi Jue and Ba Duan Jin.

CHANG Jianping noted that, Health Qigong originates in China, but belongs to the whole world, it will convey wellness, friendship and happiness to the people around the globe. The tournament in Lijiang will provide a platform to demonstrate the charm of the multi-ethnic culture of China, facilitate international exchange, and deepen the influence of Health Qigong.
